Restorative yoga is an opportunity to release physical & mental stress in the comfort of supported yoga postures. A wide range of yoga props as well as breath & relaxation guidance are used to contribute to a deep state of rest. Poses are held a little longer with the intent of not stretching the body, but to evoking a recalibration of the nervous system from patterns of stress to an experience of healing & integration.Â

Yin Yang class starts with a cooling Yin practice before moving into an energising Flow sequence to leave you invigorated and ready for your day. Yin Yoga postures are held for longer periods of time, to nourish connective tissue, restore balance in the body's energy systems, and calm the nervous system. The "Yang" flow sequence will work your muscles while synchronising movement and breath at a moderate, but intuitive pace.Â
Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures which are held for longer periods of time, ranging from 45 seconds to 5 minutes. Often one of our last classes of the day, it is the perfect way to unwind both the mind and body allowing for a restful sleep when you return home.
Yin postures apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body i.e. the tendons, fascia, and ligaments, with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. In addition to people seeking a calmer, quieter practice, Yin is an excellent style of yoga to complement more active forms of yoga and sports in particular for professional athletes.
